Located at 1200 Congress Street, Portland, Maine
Portland Gastroenterology Center is one of New England’s largest gastroenterology facilities. We provide consultation services and treatment in our newly expanded, state-of-the-art Center. Physician offices and examination rooms are on the third floor. The second floor houses our endoscopy center for colonoscopies and other procedures.
As participants in numerous research projects, our doctors have access to the latest techniques and technology. Our physicians are also leaders in specialized areas of expertise. For example, Dr. Douglas Howell is an international leader in treating pancreatic disorders and is director of the Pancreaticobiliary Center at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Alan Kilby is Maine’s top-ranking hepatologist and co-director of the Maine Medical Center Virology Treatment Center.
Our physicians are helping to educate a new generation of specialists:
- on staff at the University of Vermont College of Medicine
- teaching residents at Maine Medical Center
- offering advanced training fellowships in interventional endoscopy
We also have the distinction of being Maine’s first gastroenterology practice with an AAAHC-accredited endoscopy facility.
